Guys grandfather Wilf Lewis trained many winners during the sixties and seventies while Guys father Roger was an amateur jockey at Court Farm. One of the most succesful horses Wilf trained was April Pennant who went onto win many races along with Hobo a fantastic horse that won fourteen races during his career. The farm was also a working one and during the second world war boasted the biggest water cress farms in Wales. Court Farm has been home to sheep, cattle for beef and milk, pigs and but horses have always been a noticeable presence. In the last ten years the horse ascpect of the farm has expanded to having 50 stables, an indoor menage and an olympic sized all weather out door menage and numerous paddocks. Guys parents Roger and June have also trained many point to point and National Hunt winners over the years. They specialise in pre training of race horses and race horses that are on stable rest through injury. Numerous winners have emerged from Court Farm, the highlights being Champion Hurdle winner Hors La Loi and Coral Cup winner Unsinkable Boxer. Pleas visit the Court Farm website for more details |
